The cathedral dates from 1050, when the seat of the bishop of Devon and Cornwall was transferred from Crediton. From Exeter you can visit the north and south coastlines; and also Dartmoor and Exmoor. Exeter is a great place to hold your festivities; it has bus and motorway links, a great train, and its own airport.
