There are many reasons why people would rather chow down on a chicken chow mein than start on a crunchy salad.
Taste
Taste is very important to people which is why they will choose a curry over a boring old salad, a big mistake in the long run. This is where the addiction and weight gain comes from. Salads on the other hand tend not to be something that many people get addicted too simply because of the things inside it. The things that people get addicted too is the oils and fats inside the foods itself which is why salads and healthy things to not contain it.
Sound
Some decent dish names need to be made for the salads as they sound very poor compared to the bacon fries or double bacon and mushroom cheeseburger. This is really only down to the fact that junk food has become very popular, if it was the other way around then salad would sound like a really good idea.
Look
If you are looking straight down at a salad, sure there a lot of colours and textures but if you then replace it with a burger then you are going to be having a field day. This is once again down to the fact that the media has shown junk food to be a better option to have. Now of course things are changing and junk food is trying to be pushed out by the healthier options.
Smell
As well as this, famous brands like KFC are recognised across the world by the smell of the chicken, there arent many restaurants than can do that. A lot of people are forgetting that there are healthier options out there like fish and pasta that smell, look and taste brilliant
It would certainly seem that our own senses actually help us to choose what food we are interested in. If you are thinking about junk food then it is fine to have in small bits so why not go out and order in some Indian food.
If you have ever been in a kitchen with a cooking pizza you will know the answer – the smell of the thing! it is always worth making your own dough, and the preparation is crucial. if you cannot afford the time to make your own dough, there is lots available at most supermarkets.
Any food that you can enjoy from home should fill the room and whet the appetite, such as pizza which has a unique freshness.
I haven’t been into cooking pizzas at home for long, but like many, my inspiration comes from particular takeaway or restaurant experiences. Nearby is restaurant on the seafront, which is known for its pizzas and its entertainment. I like the combination of tasty food and entertainment, and particularly in Europe, I think the Italians and Spanish are unbeatable. In the north of Spain, they have an unsual way of serving the cider or ’sidre’ to their customers. The waiter looks as if he is in a trance, whilst pouring the drink from above his head into a glass. Pointless – but great entertainment!
The Italians are great with dough preparation and like to display it, and how important the process is to the food. There are secrets to making a pizza according to these people – preparation to start followed by the correct oven temperature. This dough is unbelievably soft and pliable. I have first hand experience of this, because they bring it round to your table and let you try the technique for yourself! They have perfected their art which involves ’spinning’ the dough in the air, eventually producing something with a familiar shape.
it goes into the overn, when all the ingredients that were chosen are prepared and topped on the pizza. In about ten minutes your senses will be gripped by the delicious aroma, coming from the oven. You don’t have to enjoy your meal inside. If the weather is fine, you can still watch all the entertainment but take the food onto the beach! Great food, sunset on the beach and good company – marvellous!
How do you source the finest takeaway services nearby to where you live? Most people have their favourite takeaway, but can be a question of luck as well. If you find a good one, and have a positive experience, you are more likely to recommend to friends and family
There are certain key elements that are influential in making a takeaway become a regular in your choice:
1. Do you live close to the restaurant or takeaway? Consider whether you can walk easily to the restaurant or takeaway at regular intervals. Take the trouble to find out if the takeaway company has a good delivery service in place.
2. How well would the service rate in your estimation? It is important for the overall impression of the place by assisting you to decide if your experience was a pleasant one. This may be determined by how much local knowledge was shown by the restaurant or takeaway. A slow delivery service is usually a direct result of a poor knowledge or the local area..
3. The flexibility of payments, and the way in which the payment was handled by the takeaway or restaurant. I cannot think of anything more annoying than completing your order to then be told that a credit card is not acceptabe for the order. I feel this is slightly unprofessional and a little embarrassing, and seems like someone trying to avoid paying tax. This place I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole, as I have no feeling of confidence in them or their food.
4. Are you able order quickly and easily from the takeaway or restaurant, and find the information that you need? If you can’t find the leaflet, normally on the floor by the door, will there be other ways to order? Nowadays, it is slightly strange if the Indian takeaways doesn’t have an online ordering facility.
It is fairly safe to say, that if an establishment has gone to the trouble of providing a decent level of service, then the quality of food should be assured.
When you speak about take away food, they are always considered as being fattening and bad for your health, but people never really realise that some of the menu is more healthy than others. Obviously choosing something like a vegetable curry will be more healthy than something greasy and wrapped in batter. It’s all simply knowing what’s good and what’s bad for you, then you will be able to be healthy while enjoying a meal treat.
Here is a little guide to help you choose the healthiest options next time you order in a takeaway.
Fish and Chips: Although you can’t really avoid them, chips tend to be the worst things at chip shops, as for the others, sausages and pies are the other worst offenders. On the other hand, the best items are mainly fish, try and have code, haddock or plaice as these are the least fatty.
Pizza: The worst choice you could have would be to have a deep pan base as these contain the most fat. As for the toppings of the pizza, try and stay away from having extra cheesy toppings or things like pepperoni. If you’re going for the healthy option, have a thing crust with either fish or vegetables on top.
Chinese: With this, try and avoid crispy and greasy items because it generally means they have been deep fried. The items to try and avoid would be sweet and sour battered pork balls, spring rolls, and specially fried rice. If you are going for the healthy line, stick with items that are steamed. Choosing items like boiled rice, beef, chicken, crab and corn soup, and steamed vegetables are the best for you.
Indian food: Just like Chinese, you should try and keep away from deep fried things and items that are creamy as these will have the most fat. The healthiest items are vegetable curry, chicken tikka, madras or bhuna. Boiled rice would be the healthiest item to have with these mains.
Hopefully when you order your next takeaway, you will change from your usual large chips and jumbo sausage to something a little healthier. As I wrote that, I was certainly shocked because I order all of the bad stuff, but I guess that’s the way it is. The food that is the best tasting is, more often than not, the wort for us.
Indian food in this country dates back further than most individuals would possibly have an idea. We can be forgiven for walking down almost any street in Britain and taking the sight of an Indian restaurant or takeaway for granted.
Who would have considered that Indian food would have had an assoication with this country for nearly 400 years? It is not just in this country that it has changed radically, but also in its native area.
Indian settlers first begun arriving in England in the seventeenth century, after merchants had begun trading in the indian town of Surat. This new company called itself the East India Company, and offered employment to lascars or local sailors to work as crewmembers. The population of the lascars grew steadily during this period, although they often struggled to avoid living in poverty.
As the influence of the British grew in India, so did the interest in Indian food in England. This marked the first published recipes, and the introduction curry powder towards the late eighteenth century.
In modern times there were three main reasons for the growth of the Indian restaurant in this country. The first reason was the general increase in the personal wealth of most people. The second reason can be attributed to the cosmopolitan nature of the people, and the third was the Tandoor.
The Middle East was the birth place of the Tandoor, which came from the Babylonian word ‘timuru’ which meant fire. After its introduction into this country in the sixties, it oversaw the birth of the classic ‘chicken tandoori’ and assimilation into the culture of the nation. This has now become a timeless favourite in all Indian takeaways throughout the land.
Because of the success of Indian entrepreneurs, the Indian food sector is seen as one of the fastest growing in the UK. The popularity of both Indian restaurants and take away food has ensured that it will be an English institution for many years to come!
